Kuwait: Egyptian sentenced to 7 years in jail for hacking KUNA web site

Cairo: A Kuwaiti court docket sentenced an Egyptian to seven years in jail and deportation after serving time for hacking the nation’s official information company KUNA and publishing false data.

The prison court docket sentenced the accused, an company worker, for publishing a false report attributed to the Kuwaiti protection minister on the departure of US troops from the Gulf nation, Al Rai newspaper reported.

Final January, KUNA denied the information and mentioned its web site had been hacked.

The accused, whose title or age has not been launched, was arrested in February and charged with endangering state safety.
